DAY 2

Breakfast was fun this morning... I'll admit, when I arrived last night I just went to the local supermarket and got some cheese, biscuits and fruit. Just to last me till I got to bed. This morning, I thought Ifd head out and get a proper Japanese breakfast. When I actually got to the local noodle bar, I suddenly realised what a silly idea it was...

I'll have er....

For a start I donft have a clue what the Japanese have for breakfast and even if I did know I wouldnft know how to ask for it! I ended up with sliced chicken and a king prawn in batter with rice. Itfs probably like having fish and chips for breakfast but it was just what I was after!!

Im staying in a place called Minami-senju. Itfs in the suburbs of Tokyo and is reasonably quiet. The station is a 10 minute walk, unless you take the route I did this morning, in which case itfs a 20 minute walk and you end up at the next station...

There are elections going on at the mo, so theres loads of posters and vans with speakers blaring out and Japanese blokes waving

I thought Ifd head out to Akihabera today, which is known in English as eElectric Town.f Itfs a region that puts Tottenham Court Road to shame. There are huge great department stores dedicated solely to electronic goods. Therefs a Segaworld which has all the latest and just about every other Sega arcade game ever made (I played the new eHouse of the dead 3f -you get shotguns, WOO-HOO!).

Theres an electronics market which literally sells everything which has a current going through it. There are whole shops dedicated to selling every different cable, resistor, spy-camera, radio, microphone, mobile phone, switch, lightbulb, you name it, they have it.
