Adelaide and Snowboarding 1-3/3/3
This is Cannon Street Backpackers, my hostel here in Adelaide. It looks pretty small from the front but goes all the way back into the warehouse looking place behind.
It has everything a backpacker could need, TV room, Pool Tables, a Bar, Cheap Food, free apple pie'n'ice cream, vending machines, a table tennis table and a a bunch of fast internet terminals for $4 an hour. Im not sure whether this is good or bad, but im on first name terms with the guys (Tara and Chris) that run the internet bit.
Tom, Daryl, Jason and I all went on a big explore of the city on Saturday. We did the botanic gardens...
...which included a huge indoor rainforest...
...and then wandered along the River Murray. It was called the Murray River but they decided it was so important to South Australia (the driest state in the driest country), they switched the words. ***um UPDATE 4/3/3 - I was showing Chris (internet bloke) and he said "Thats not the Murray, Thats the Torrence! The Murray's a huge great thing!" Oops. I thought it looked a bit serene for a major waterway...**
This is the fountains in the middle of Victoria square in the centre of Adelaide, which is about 3 mins walk from the hostel.
Victoria Square from the other direction. What good colony whould be complete without a statue of Queen Victoria eh?

Having done bugger all yesterday (Sunday) except write some emails, play pool and go to the supermarket, we decided to have an active day today.
Darren, Angie and I headed out to the Mt. Thebarton indoor snow center for a bit of snowboarding. Heres me just before I performed a 180 half-pipe flip spin phase reversal. Or 'Stacking it' as its known in Romford.
Actually I wasn't as bad as at it as I thought I was gonna be, once I got the hang of it. I learnt on ice rather than snow in the alps last year (it was the end of the season) so I felt quite at home on this indoor stuff.
Heres me and Angie (a girl from Darren's room who tagged along) Sorry the pics are a bit dark, theres no auto-flash on my camera.
Heres Darren looking really flash (if a dark flash)...
The last time down we took up a bunch of rubber rings which was a giggle. Though more dangerous as there's no way to turn or stop (as Darren found when he slammed into, then up the wall).
