Day 3
Just a quick apology to anyone reading this on a home PC connection. From today Im gonna start putting all the pics on 1 page rather than 2. It takes about an hour to create an HTML page, write it, upload and insert pics and then troubleshoot any bugs/deadlinks. It'll probably feel like it takes longer to download now, but sod ya. Im wasting too much precious drinking time in front of a PC!
I like Singapore. I tried to put my flight off a couple of days so I could stay longer but the later flights were all booked. Ah well. Guess Ill have to come back another time...
Anyway, I met up with Luke and Kate again and we went to Kranji War Memorial to see wheres Luke's Grandad (A WWII Spitfire pilot who was shot down) is buried.
We found out his body was never recovered but he was on the memorial wall on top of the hill. Squadron Leader H.S. Giddings was shot down in 1943.
Watch Out. Sad boy alert. From the top of the hill you could see Merlin's Shortwave Transmitting Station at Kranji.
Later on we went to Chinatown, once again the food was really cheap and surprisingly didn't look or taste anything like what you get at the local 'Great Wall' in England. It was nice but who'd have thought the Chinese would cook their own food wrong??
As I was saying yesterday about big fines for small things....
Heres a couple of Pics of Raffles and the Singapore skyline with another war memorial spire in the foreground.
We had another cheap Chinese meal for dinner then went to the Suntec City Mall to see the laser light and water show they do everynight.
Decided to go to bed early tonight as I fly out to Oz tomorrow night and Ive still got stuff to do and see tomorrow day.
Im really looking forward to getting to Oz and having some serious beach and drinking time. This travellin' stuff is wearing me out....
