MINI Adventures - FHM
Sarah went out to work and I spent the day around the house with Chrystal and Karla. It was getting to the point where my money was running pretty low, so a day just sitting and getting to know a couple of smart, funny, good looking Canadian birds was both economical, and extremely enjoyable! It was cool living in an apartment with three girls 'cos I got to see the other side of the coin.
You know when you ring up and their friend says 'Sorry she's not in at the moment?' ITS ALL LIES! SHE IS REALLY! Shes standing just by the phone, with her hands over her mouth listening to every word you say!
But it did work both ways, bless 'em, when they said stuff like 'Oh no. We're not at that stage yet, he just wants to come over with a bottle of wine and watch a video.'
Free Willy perhaps?
When Sarah got in, she brought home the coolest mini in Vancouver (which is saying something, as there's loads around.) The Radio One!
Radio One is a promo event in a club in Vancouver that specialises in playing British music, and they hired the car and covered it in promotional stuff. It even came with a free CD with Oasis, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Blur etc on it!
Sarah's mate Jesse come out with us and we all headed up to a tubing place which we'd heard had opened up at the top of one of the mountains. It was strange going up there, I felt a bit like I was in one of those utopian black and white adverts at the back of FHM. You know the ones where all the models pose in fancy designer clothes in weird and wonderful places? I've never felt like that before, I probably use the word cool too much, but this was cool in its purest sense.
It turned out that the tubing wasn't open, and the only other option was cross-country skiing, which sounded far too much like effort (and much less fun) so we left it and went back into town to try ice-skating.
Crammed in the back of a Mini Cooper with two babes doing about a ton (Sarah was driving) coming down a mountain. Life's a bitch.
Ice-skating was fun. It seemed apt doing it in Canada, as they're big into their winter sports.
Obviously I was a pro the moment I stepped on there...
This is me recovering from a 40 mph triple back jump spin.
You know every now and then you get a photo, which you really like of yourself? We went to a bar after ice skating and at the end of the night, I said to Jesse and his mate Johnny to look cool, like FHM models in front of the Radio 1 Mini to finish off the photo shoot for the evening....
